PRE-K

Our program, unique among Valparaiso Pre-K, is designed so that all children have an opportunity to choose the program that fits them best: offering traditional half day (8:30-11:15) Extended Day (for our more advanced learners 8:30-2:15) and Full Day (for families that need all day care 6:30-6pm care included)
Our Pre-K program is designed to give children a strong foundation as they prepare for kindergarten. At Valparaiso Christian Academy, we focus on developing early reading skills, beginner math concepts, Social/emotional skills, spiritual growth, classroom readiness, and self-confidence—setting children up for success at the top of their class!
Our Pre-K curriculum follows a structured monthly calendar that includes:
Weekly concept themes
Letter of the week
Special events
Language and literacy home extension projects
Monthly academic-related field trips
To track progress, teachers conduct assessments twice a year, providing parents with insights into their child's development in speech, learning comprehension, and overall kindergarten readiness.
Faith-Based Learning & Chapel
Preschool and Pre-K students attend Chapel every Wednesday at 10:00 AM. These non-denominational services are designed to be early childhood-appropriate, ensuring that all families feel welcome. The faith-based portion of our curriculum aligns with weekly Chapel lessons, and a take-home flyer allows parents to follow along with what their child is learning. Chapel services are interactive, incorporating music and storytelling to make learning fun and engaging.
