YOUNG PRESCHOOL
Two-year-olds need appropriate stimulation. They are active learners, full of curiosity and wonder. They thrive on love, attention, and the opportunity to form secure, trusting relationships with their teachers—connections that support their healthy development.
The Young Preschool Program at Valparaiso Christian Academy is designed to meet the unique developmental needs of each child. Our daily activities include educational learning opportunities, sensory exploration, storytime, music, singing, large motor play, faith based learning, and constant verbal interaction to foster budding language, literacy, socialization, self-awareness, and developmental skills. Our Twos classrooms are equipped with age-appropriate toys and learning materials, creating an engaging and supportive environment.
Potty training is also a big part of our Young Preschool world! When your child is ready, we are ready!
VCA provides a safe, nurturing environment where two-year-olds can begin their journey of lifelong learning. Our program emphasizes building a strong self-concept while developing social, intellectual, and verbal skills.
AGE RANGE
Children begin in our Young Preschool program around 2 years old and remain until approximately 3 yrs old.
HOURS
Young Preschool is available Monday through Friday 6:30am-6:00pm.
CURRICULUM
Our Young Preschool curriculum is designed to move children toward preschool readiness. The class follows a monthly calendar, complete with weekly concept themes, a color or shape of the week, and special events.
TEACH RATIOS
Our ratio is 1:5, with a maximum class size of 10. Additionally, an extra set of hands is always available as needed to provide the highest level of care and attention.

Children begin in our Young Preschool program around 2 years old and remain until approximately 3 years old. The summer following the year they complete Young Preschool, they will transition into a 3-4-year-old Preschool class, based on their birthday, alongside peers who will eventually head into kindergarten with them.
